Though it is not as widely known as Visa, MasterCard, or UnionPay, it is accepted in an enormous number of places internationally. Can a Card Be Anonymous?

There are two conditions that need to be fulfilled for a card to be considered anonymous:

  • The magnetic strip should not contain the owner’s personal data
  • The cardholder’s name should not be shown on the plastic

In the case of the Diners Club Card, it works using a six-digit PIN code and a chip. The only place where the cardholder’s personal data is available is the payment system that issued the card, which is mandatory to comply with the requirements of international regulators (in other words, you cannot legally have more anonymity than that). If you get a receipt during your transaction, it will only contain information about the payment system. There will be no details about the cardholder, including the name.

The Diners Club in Brief

You must have heard much more about American Express, UnionPay, Visa, or MasterCard than about the Diners Club International. If it is so, you will probably be surprised to find out that the organization was founded back in 1950 and is the oldest card issuer! Diners Club is actually the company that brought payment cards into existence. It owned a number of famous companies, such as Discover and Citigroup. Nowadays, it works as a franchised network that provides various financial services and it gives its franchisees the right to deal with the issuance of Diners Club cards across the globe. It also has a premium brand known as Carte Blanche. Also, you may have heard of the Diners Club Airport Lounge Program which adds convenience and comfort to travelers. The holders of Diners Club Cards have access to over 1,300 airport lounges around the world if they comply with certain conditions.

Card Characteristics

The only way to replenish the Diners Club anonymous card is a bank transfer. Cardholders can spend money online or use a plastic card. The Diners Club card and the UnionPay card make a perfect match: the second one has a wider acceptance, but there will be places where only the first one will work. If you are going to travel, we recommend taking both cards with you to ensure the broadest possible coverage of ATMs across the globe and seamless daily spending.

Here are the benefits of the Diners Club Card:

  • Personal data privacy
  • Confidentiality of transactions
  • Affordable service fees
  • Seamless payments for products/services at points of sale
  • Over 1.2 million ATMs and cash advance offices will be available to you
  • The card is accepted in over 200 countries and territories
  • You will have round-the-clock access to your funds in cash or at merchants
  • High daily limits are set

Like any other standard bank card, the Diners Club Card can be used to make different transactions, including online/offline purchases. This is a multicurrency card, which gives you an opportunity to keep your funds in euros or US dollars and spend them without paying foreign transaction fees or conversion rates. You may need to spend or withdraw cash in another currency, though, – and in this case, the conversion fee payable is only 1% over the interbank rate.

The product is serviced on the Diners Club/Discover network from Asia and works in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the majority of countries and territories across the globe.
